"Emotive and potent, wielding influences from dusty caravans to dark dancefloors to the depths of dub, ►►△'s new EP "三 (Saām)" is an intriguing blend of brooding beats and haunting melodies. The French duo, based on Cheung Chau - an outlying island in Hong Kong - find substance and solace in both nature and form on this four-track release. Whether it is the mysticism of opener "Kitano," "Tuken" with its lush pulsing African rhythms, the slow-building tribal/electro haze-fueled "Triangle Dub," or the shifting jazzy vibes of "Saam," ►►△ have crafted a mature musical statement that successfully defies genre."
